Feature questions
Do I need to know accounting to use the accounting features?
No. You just sell, take payments and record udhaar on the simple counter screen. Full double-entry books — roznamcha day-book, party ledgers and a trial balance — post themselves in the background and always balance to the paisa, so your reports are correct without you touching a ledger.
Can I sell loose items by weight, not just by piece?
Yes. Sell by piece or by loose weight (kg, grams, litres) in the same bill. Prices calculate automatically from the weight you enter, and stock is deducted in the same unit.
What happens if a product has no barcode?
Sauda generates a valid internal EAN-13 barcode for it automatically. A single product can also carry many barcodes, which is handy when the same item arrives in different packs.
Can I run more than one shop or warehouse?
Yes. Manage several shops and godams (warehouses) from one account, with stock and reports kept per location, and transfer stock between them.
Does Sauda handle sales tax / GST?
It is tax-ready but off by default, so there is no tax clutter on the selling screen. When you are ready, enable it in settings — no migration or re-setup needed.
Can I bring in my existing products and opening balances?
Yes — import your product catalogue, parties and opening lena/dena balances from an Excel sheet. Common column names are recognised automatically, so most lists import with little clean-up.
